Skin is the largest and most exposed organ of our body. Healthy skin is a sign of good health. A healthy, soft and shiny skin always attracts the attention of others. Your skin protects you from fluctuating temperature, harmful foreign bodies such as bacteria, viruses and other parasites. Skin consists of three layers each performing its different functions. Upper layer protects excessive water loss, traps foreign bodies; the middle layer called dermis is supplied with network of nerves, arteries, veins and lymphocytes.
No doubt, your skin provides security to all internal organs and gives you beauty.Besides performing these functions, it does require a little care as a reward. So how you will care your skin? In this article, you will learn how you can care your skin to keep it fresh, soft and supple.
Drink plenty of water:
Water is a universal compound, that is, all chemical reactions require water. More than 79 % of protoplasm is composed of water. It maintains optimum body temperature. Water keeps our skin flexible, fresh and soft.
Drink as much water as you can easily without gastric discomfort.
Balanced diet:
Your skin is an organ like other organs in your body and requires nutrients for its health. Major nutrients are:
� Vitamins
� Minerals
� Protein (Keratin)
Keratin is a constituent part of your skin�s upper layer and hairs.
Always eat balanced diet that provide all nutrients.
Stop smoking:
Smoking increases carbon monoxide (a toxic substance) in your blood. Smoking turns your skin grey and rigid. For healthy skin, stop smoking immediately. It destroys vitamin C in your body that is one of the most effective antioxidants.
Exercise regularly:
Regular exercise will nourish your skin with oxygen. When you exercise each cell in your skin is bathed in blood and lymph travels rapidly in your lymph vessels.
Bath regularly:
Have a bath regularly with lukewarm water. It cleanses all dirt on your skin and opens the skin pores for successive sebum discharge.
Avoid Stress:
Stress has a profound impact on your skin. It turns your skin black, rough and rigid. Avoid stress to keep you and your skin healthy.
