Top Seven Myths
There are many foods and products that people consider as the precursor of acne. Here in this article, we will list more common myths and describe if they are true or false?
Chocolate:
Many people consider chocolate as a precursor of acne while research shows that chocolate does not produce acne. However, if you experience that eating chocolate increases your acne, you should avoid it until your acne are fully cured.
Coffee:
Like chocolate, no study shows that coffee produces acne. However, it may be possible that coffee imbalances the hormonal system and triggers the sebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum. It depends purely on your bodily nature and its reaction to external agents.
Smoking:
Smoking as a precursor of acne is an argument among scientists and researchers. Studies conducted yet show no evidence that smoking produces acne. But it is a fact that it increases the carbon monoxide in your blood, a toxic substance. Your blood and immune system may react by producing anti body that may trigger sebaceous glands.
Finally, it depends on your immune system how it reacts to the foreign particles.
Tanning:
Most people consider tanning alleviates the acne and reduces further acne flare ups. This view is wrong; sunlight never reduces acne in any way. Ultra violet rays of sunlight greatly destruct your skin.
Spicy foods:
Most people seem to complain that spicy foods produce and increase acne. It is true that spicy foods taste well, but many people can not digest them. The spices produce the excessive production of sebaceous glands.
The more you wash your face, the fewer risk of acne:
Very common myth is that washing face reduces acne. It is all wrong, washing your face too much increases risks of acne and if you have not developed acne yet, you will be more prone to develop in future. Wash your face twice a day and pat dry. It is a normal method.
Conclusion:
Although these are the myths, if you feel something irritates your acne, you should avoid it. In case you experience something that does not produce acne, do not avoid it. It is true that I may develop acne as a reaction of coffee but other person does not. It purely depends on your nature and bodily response.
