Beer Causes Acne Acne is a skin disease that is widespread and recurrent caused by invariable number of reasons. The condition develops when the sebaceous glands produce an excessive amount of oil that blocks up the pores of the skin. Dirt and bacteria start to grow and spread within the clogged pores leading to acne. Acne has various types such as blemishes, blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, inflammation, rashes, scars and dark spots where the treatment depends highly on the level of severity of the acne problem.
According to the Academy of Dermatology there is no direct link that clearly identifies and correlates the cause and effect of drinks and food over acne. However studies have shown that the condition can be greatly exacerbated by consuming certain food items or beverages. In such instances it is favorable to consult a dietician and avoid the consumable items altogether.
Alcohol especially beer, vodka and wine contain certain chemicals that increase the level of testosterone in the body leading to acne breakout. Often certain harmful ingredients are also added that can be harmful for the body overall. In such cases the consumption of alcohol should be avoided, it is also favorable to consult a relevant doctor who can indicate the relation between alcohol and acne. Often certain food items consumed with beverages can worsen the acne condition. Processed food have considerable amount of toxins and chemicals found in the artificial ingredients added to the food. Such chemicals can affect the liver as well as lead to acne formation. These include frozen food, deep fried food and different kinds of food items categorized as junk food. Fats especially trans-fat are harmful for the overall health of the body and should be avoided completely. According to health experts it can have an impact on the skin and lead to acne.
