Keira Knightley's Interview on Acne

After I figured out that Ms. Knightley had acne I was curious to get to know her perspective about how a celebrity of her stature copes with the vicious world of acne. Getting her interview was another challenge in itself but after countless hours spent I finally managed (I wont tell how I did) a short telephone interview with her. As I had limited time to take the interview I asked only about acne since that was the purpose of my interview.

I have seen pictures of your acne on the internet are they fake?

KK
I would have loved to say that they are fake but I am afraid they are real.

MB
So when did you first encounter acne breakouts? And how did you react to it initially.

KK
I have had it for ages now. It's hard to remember exactly when but it has been there for more then ten years now. Initially I didn?t think much of it as I didn?t spend much time in front of the mirror anyway so it wasn?t a problem.

MB
So how do you cope with acne as it must be a great hindrance in what you do for a living?

KK
Yes you can say that, there are those countless hours of filming and photo shoots which never seem to end but for me the hardships start hours before the work itself as it takes up usually three to four hours of  make up to get me screen ready. After that the digital guys do the magic.

MB
That?s a lot of time spent on make up.

KK
Yeah it sure is.

How do you treat your acne?
Weekly visits to the dermatologist are top of my priority list, because if I miss these appointments I get the most nasty acne breakouts. Plus I also try various over the counter products of which I have found certain herbal medicines very helpful.

Anything you would like to say to all the acne sufferers out there?
I would like to tell them that fighting acne like any other medical condition begins from the head....
