How to Minimize Pores Naturally

There are various reasons why large pores can appear on the skin, this ranges from genetic causes, environmental factors to lack of care for the skin. The pores tend to enlarge when blackheads form on the skin surface. Skin problems can cause great distress since the problem does not go away without an effective treatment. The good news is that acne sufferers no longer need to hope and pray to improve their skin problems.

There a wide variety of treatments available today that help reduce acne and contract the pores. This can be done naturally therefore it makes it cost effective and risk free.

One useful way is to unclog and contract the pores with the help of exfoliation. A cotton wash cloth can placed on the face; however it is recommended that the skin is not rubbed too much since it can cause skin damage. The skin should be exfoliated at least twice a week; this will help clear up the bacteria and dirt from the clogged pores. Steaming the face can also be quite useful. A pot of steaming water can be place near the skin for several minutes. This will help open the pores and get rid of the dirt and oil keeping the skin acne free and allow the pores to minimize. The face should then be washed and then dried gently.

Facial mask after steaming can be just the right remedy to reduce the pores. Clay masks added with a quarter of carrot juice works well to replenish the skin and contract the pores of the skin. The skin should be first washed or steamed, and then the mask applied and left on for at least 20 minutes. After this the skin should be washed with lukewarm water and dried gently. Other non comedogenic facial masks can also be helpful. It is important to keep the pores of the skin unclogged and free of bacteria.

According to Janice Cox, the author of ‘Natural Beauty at Home’, a homemade facial wash can be made with the help of one tablespoon of baking soda, half a cup of water, a quarter cup of milk and one white egg. The ingredients can be mixed thoroughly and applied onto the skin gently. The mixture gets absorbed into the pores and unblocks the pores removing the dirt and oil and clearing the surface of the skin.

A natural astringent can be applied with a cotton swab that works well to reduce excessive oil and contract the pores of the skin. Aside from that a moisturizer containing aloe vera can be applied onto the affected areas. The moisturizer will help reduce marks on the skin and tighten the pores. The gel can be obtained from the aloe plant, the gel can be applied onto the large pores and then left to dry. Regular application will get best results.
