Papaya for Acne

Acne is a frequent problem in individuals from teenagers to older adults. Several causes have been identified, the most common being shifts in the body’s hormone. Acne not only leads to painful marks but create scarring on the face. To improve mild acne and the complexion of the skin it is favorable to try eating fruits and vegetables as part of the diet. One of the fruit that is especially beneficial for the skin is papaya.

According to research papaya acts as an antioxidant, its beta carotene properties form new skin cells and clears clogged pores. It holds vitamin A, B and C that get rid of the detrimental dead skin cells and give nourishment to the skin by breaking down specific proteins. The fruit is very good for the body, it can be applied as an ointment or it can be eaten regularly. By eating unripe papaya the body makes healthy cells which improve the skin state. While using the papaya treatment as a facial mask the unripe papaya contains enzyme which ingest the particular proteins reducing the spread of soreness and pus caused by the acne condition. Unripe papaya has considerably less carotene however when eaten it can still prove to be helpful since its ingredient contain papain enzyme.

Many home made treatments can be used to treat the acne problem. The unripe or ripe papaya can be crushed and its flesh or juice can be applied directly onto the skin. The mixture should be left onto the skin for at least 15 to 20 minutes to achieve best results. The papaya skin, flesh and seeds hold medicinal attributes which are known for healing and repairing the skin. The papaya paste will not only reduce acne but improve the complexion giving it a beautiful natural glow.

If a person has latex allergies it is recommended to avoid application or consumption of papaya. The latex in unripe papaya can also lead to miscarriages and premature births therefore pregnant females should stay away from consuming or applying papaya.
