Popcorn and AcneAcne is a skin condition that is caused by excessive secretion of oil leading to clogged skin pores and therefore acne breakouts. It is an embarrassing and problematic issue that is generally difficult to deal with especially if it does not just happen during adolescence and merely disappear over the year. Acne is one of the frequent problems that can happen at any age and the best treatment for acne is to first improve health and hygiene that would increase the chances of a person having a nourished body and skin.
The problem arises when a person’s routine and diet are not stable. In cases where the causes are unavoidable such as change of seasons or hormonal shifts in the body it is best to try to abate the condition through organic treatments, medication or any therapy that does not have many side effects. Of course treatments also vary based on the severity of the acne.
Even as extensive research has not been done to link impact of type of food consumption and acne, the glycemic index according study proves that it is more likely that a person would suffer from acne if one has a diet high in glycemic index or carbohydrates. Many of us often ignore how harmful junk food really is because it tastes good and often becomes a short cut to having proper meals. Junk food according to research mostly comprises of calories and trans-fat that not only adds several kilos to your thighs and waist line but also proves to be very unhealthy for the body. The skin’s health depreciates since the body does not get what it is needed or excess of something needed in a minute amount.
As mentioned earlier there is no clear evidence to substantiate a direct relation between food and acne. However fatty foods that makes acne breakout more likely can be simply avoided. Popcorn if consumed in the right quantity is not that bad for the diet. If around 100 grams of popcorn is consumed free of extra cheese or caramel it provides the body with sufficient amount of vitamin B1 and E, proteins, calcium and Riboflavin making it quite the healthy snack. However what needs to be considered is that excessive amount of oil or poultry products are not mixed since these induce acne.
Popcorn is not really a necessary food item to add as part of the diet however if a person wants to eat one should avoid flavored popcorns made in microwave. According to health expert as the food is more organic the better the health will be. In cases where a person suffers from severe acne it would be wise to stick to a strict healthy diet and avoid snacks.
