Jon Gosselin a successful reality TV show star of “Jon, Kate Plus 8”, is a hip, hot and happening man. With his single reality show, he hit ratings, was known in Hollywood and is now appearing on various ads. His main problem? Acne outburst!
Yes people, Jon Gosselin too have acne, most probably due to his stressful life with 8 children and a coping divorce. Anyways, besides the gossip, this guy really has problems with acne. His face would be covered with severe acne outbreaks, along with previous acne scars.
So if you happen to be suffering from acne, please just look around you and you’d feel much more relieved. Acne outbursts in men is pretty common, the reason being the stressful life or the presence of extreme sebums that produce much more than needed oil. A man also has a high sweat level, thus sometimes making the acne even worse.
If you are a man who happens to be suffering from acne, you need to take basic measures such as sweat control, wearing clean clothes, having a bath twice a day. For the face you can apply benzoyl peroxide or any other topical treatment. However, avoid going for over the counter acne medications. Always visit your dermatologist for any kind of medication that would be needed.
Over the counter medications are meant usually for people who have a mild problem, but they too have a varied reaction. Acne level, acne problem, acne causes in people differ from person to person so is the treatment. The treatments that work for Jon Gosselin may not work for you!
Also remember acne takes time to heal up. It’s not an overnight process, therefore whatever medications/treatment you take, be patient with it and go slow. After all celebrities too face such acne problems, and they have to walk the ramp at times! You are still saved from public spotlight!

I have written this before in many article about acne but it is such an important thing that I keep reminding you guys time and again. It is important that you not only fight acne with drugs, creams and solution but also the other way which is fighting it mentally. You can be mentally stronger through many proven techniques like yoga etc. This gives you benefit on two counts:

Fighting acne can be frustrating:

Fighting acne can be a frustrating practice since the results are never very rapid and people tend to loose hope pretty quickly and switch treatments before they get effective. So your mental stamina and ability to stay positive can come in handy. Plus you can fight the stress that comes by being an outcast of the society.

Stress can also cause acne breakouts

Studies have shown that stress can lead to acne breakouts. So when you will be controlling your body stress level you will also be controlling your acne.

Yoga and other stress relieving exercises can go a long way in fighting acne and there are no two ways about it.

Acne in most cases is a hormonal disorder caused during teens and pregnancy due to the over activity of the hormone. Some people feel guilty if they encounter acne because they feel that it might be because of their wrong habits. In certain places people think that oily food intake can cause acne, although it might be true in certain extreme cases and that oily food is in no way beneficial for you it doesn’t cause acne this is because of the lack of awareness that is there regarding acne. In some regions of the world people believe that acne is caused due to masturbation.

This is because young people tend to masturbate a lot and since they encounter acne they can usually think that it is causing acne. So people who are suffering acne tend to think that the lack of self control dietary or sexual can cause acne and thus they feel guilty to be acne sufferers but it is in no way their mistake.

There is a thinking in society that if you encounter acne in your teens. you cannot cure it as it is a hormonal disorder, plus it will go away after you reach your 20s. This notion is not accurate anymore because although 90% of all humans encounter acne at some point in their lives they dont necessarily get rid of them with time. The American Association for Dermatologist reports that because of certain changes in living conditions acne can persist even after the teen years, even if in some cases it clear up by the time the person reaches 20s, in many cases it can persist for many years to come and it can only be cured through constant treatment and care.

The other thing that is making acne such a big problem is the pursuit of perfection in our teenagers these days. The superficial upbringing means that things like acne can make a teenager feel inferior and this can lead to a long term bigger problem with major consequences.

Acne is known to be a cause for concern for people since there social activities are hampered. Acne however is not just a mere physical deformity but rather it effects you mentally. As people who suffer from acne also witness stress and anxiety.

Studies conducted by AAD (American association for dermatologist) reveal that acne can cause social withdrawal, decreased self-esteem, poor body image, depression, anger and even employment anxieties in people who have acne outbreaks.

Acne outbreaks could be mild or sever but the damage they do mentally depends on how the sufferer copes with it. Doing yoga and tie-chi can help you fight the mental damage of acne.
